- How do I Apply for Partnership?
Applying for partnership is as easy as collecting some key data and writing an email. We ask that all parties who apply adhere to the following criteria: 5k and up subs, no Copyright Strikes, no Ad Sense issues and not currently partnered. Additionally, we will ask for some screen grabs from your channel's Analytics as well. The screen grabs we will require to be sent via email are: Views, Demopgrahics, Playback Locations and Traffic Sources. Additionally we will need a screen grab indicating your channel is in good standing. Please email this information to us with a write up about your channel, thanks!
- How does the partnership program work? What does it mean to be partnered with Curse?
Partnering with Curse on YouTube is a great way to earn money for your video game tutorials, gameplay walk-throughs, gaming comedy videos, glitches, Easter eggs and more. The way this works is by Curse selling the ad space on your channel to large content specific companies like Blizzard, E.A and Alienware! This means you will get pre and post roll (the ads featured before and after your videos) content that is gaming geared. When people see gaming ads as opposed to ads for companies like State Farm and Ford, they will be less likely to navigate away from your channel. - When, how and how often will I get paid? Do I have to reach a certain amount before I can get paid?
Curse pays out our partners every 30 days on the 20th of each month. We typically pay through Pay Pal, however exceptions are occasionally made for partners in countries that don't have access to the PayPal website. We pay out with no cap, meaning no matter what you earn you will be paid on the 20th of every month. This is just one of many ways Curse differs from other networks.- What is the process for partnering? For unpartnering?
The processes for both partnering and unpartnering are relatively simple. Should you meet our criteria for membership (1k+ subscribers, no Ad Sense issues and no copyright strikes) we can do one of two things. We can either add you to our CMS manually if you have no previous monetary ties to YouTube or any existing network, or we can make a statement to our contact at YouTube if you DO have preexisting business arrangements set up. The latter is a simple paragraph sent from your YouTube email address explaining to YouTube your desire to be added into the Curse network. From here, we will ask some preliminary questions about your channel and help you with some paperwork we ask our partners to fill out. The paperwork includes the contract, a PayPal form and either a W8 or W9 depending on location. Since we do have an open ended contract, you are free to leave should you ever become dissatisfied. This process entails us removing you from our CMS and sending you a confirmation email.- Can I use copyright content in my video now that I am partnered?
The use of copyright content within YouTube is very stringently monitored. We ask that you not use copyright music unless it is music belonging to a game that we have a license with, additionally no music outside of gaming is allowed. As a video game company network, we DO have the ability to monetize actual game play. This means footage of you actually playing the game accompanied either by text on screen, voice over or edited in some way to make it uniquely yours. Please do not include cut scenes or trailers as they are not covered by gameplay monetization.- Do I have access to Live Streaming? The shows feature? What about BETA releases?
As you may or may not know, Live Streaming on YouTube is a less than perfect outlet. Due to the infancy of this program on YouTube we are currently taking applications for partners who may be interested in it. We ask that you send us a paragraph long email detailing what you would offer to the Curse network in terms of Live Streaming. Remember, under YouTube's rules, Live Streaming is not currently available for monetization. As a partner, you will enjoy access to the shows feature and the occasional BETA release. The shows feature and BETA keys are available upon request on a first come first serve basis. While we do not have BETA keys for EVERY game release, we will try our hardest to obtain them for partners who ask and who would benefit from having them.- How do I get my videos featured?
Having a video embedded (or featured) on one of our web properties is a GREAT exposure tool. Many of our properties are seen by over a million sets of eyes per day, which means lots of views and subscribers for the authors of featured videos. To have a video embedded, just send it to us in an email with a short write up of what the video includes. We will try our hardest to feature your suggested video, however due to certain constraints occasionally the mods will choose a video they find more relevant.- I am having trouble uploading, what should I do?
Occasionally problems with uploading a video will arise. Before you panic, make sure you have correctly followed the protocol listed above for uploading a video. If you have done everything correctly and are still experiencing issues, please contact us for further information. Please remember this entire program is YouTube based and the issues you are experiencing may sometimes be on their end as opposed to ours. We will do everything in our power to resolve your issue for you, however in some situations a bug could be at fault and your only option is to wait it out.- Do I have to adhere to a upload schedule? Am I required to endorse Curse?
One of the great things about being partnered with Curse is the freedom! While all content remains yours, we never ask you to adhere to a schedule or endorse us if YOU don't want to. We understand that people have lives outside of gaming and want their channel to remain an outlet for THEIR creativity, not ours. That being said, the more you upload the more views you will get and the more money you will make. Additionally, you are more than welcome to endorse us in your videos if you want. Message the YouTube Content Managers on Skype or Email for access to Curse logos, clips, etcetera. Don't forget to check the FTP for access to partner only, copyright free material for use in your videos!- Do I need an Ad Sense account to partner with Curse? What if I have a copyright strike on my YouTube Channel?
An Ad Sense account is not required to qualify for partnership with Curse. If you DO have an Ad Sense, we simply ask that you have not violated their terms of service and have no previous issues with them. We currently ask that our partners have no strikes on their YouTube channel to qualify for partnership. Remember, some strikes DO expire after a certain amount of time so make sure to check the time frame on strikes when looking into this requirement.- I don't qualify for partnership; can we work out some kind of a deal?
Unfortunately, our program is not set up for these kinds of request. Our program exists on a level where channels on YouTube are able to generate revenue for their hard work. Contractually, we are unable to make any kind of special deals or honor any kind of exceptions. If you are having trouble gaining subscribers, try holding a contest on your channel and pushing your channel on ALL social media outlets. There is no limit on the number of partners we will accept, so take your time upping your subscribers. We will be here when you are done!- I want to earn money by selling additional ad space to other companies, is this alright?
When a partner wants to pursue other means of earning revenue by selling ad space, we simply ask that it not breach the predetermined arrangement between your channel and Curse. Since this is a business agreement that exists solely within YouTube, any ad selling or video sharing OUTSIDE of YouTube is 100% okay! Advertising exceptions for YouTube channels may be considered in certain circumstances on a conditional basis.
